We want to stay excited about the very thing we love to do!
As therapists, yoga teachers, agency workers or healers we want to stay excited about the very thing we love to do. We want to avoid hating that very thing we do to make this a better world for all. It might be difficult to accomplish it when seeing tragedy and pain every day.
Some of the things you might begin to feel as part of the continual exposure to others' traumatic experiences are forgetting about your own self care, becoming reactive, having a negative perspective on life as well as feeling tired and overwhelmed. This work is hard and has not meant to be done in isolation. It is necessary to find the support you need if you attempt to be of help to people in distress long term.
In our work together you can.....
- Consult on complex cases when you suspect trauma is playing a role in the relationships, behaviors and symptoms clients are presenting. As a consultant, I will listened the struggles you face in your work with clients without judgements. We will discuss your clients and your own emotional responses to the dynamics playing out in your work in order to promote self awareness for you and your clients.
- Consult on yoga practices to improve your own self care taking into consideration your unique interest and needs.
- As a therapist or healer, maybe you decide you are ready for your own therapy. You want to process your own reactions to your family, work place and clients. This is one of the greatest self care gift therapists can have for themselves. Your therapeutic experience can greatly impact your work as a therapist with your clients.
