Life is not meant to live in isolation. Our brains are wired to be in relationships with others. This is the reason why when we run into difficulties in relationships, we have our first glimpse to look for help. When relationships fail, we develop symptoms of anxiety and depression and sometimes we take this failure as a reflection of who we are. Relationship difficulties do not arise only due to having different opinions and ways of doing things, but due to the ways we have learned and internalized throughout life to relate and be with each other.
When traumatic experiences happen, they impact relationships as well. For many trauma survivors the world is not a safe place to be nor a place in which to find people to trust. This is true even more if the traumatic experience happened under the care of someone who was in a position of authority or in a relationship with someone they trusted.
I invite you to consider if working on these difficulties are an option and schedule a consultation session with me.
